Have you ever asked your kids things just so you could laugh at their answers? Not in a mean way, but in a "I know something amusing will come from the answer" way.
For example: Graedon gets Brian up in the morning about 6:45 - 7:00 am. I am not a morning person so I just roll over and go back to sleep. Brian wakes Lauren or Maddie up to sit with Grae while he showers and leaves for work. I have been trying to wean Grae off his morning naps so he will just take one long afternoon nap. This only works when he wakes up near 7:00 am. If he happens to wake up at 6:30 am, he gets a morning nap because then he is g-r-o-u-c-h-y.
Anyway, I usually call Bri and ask him what time Grae woke up so I know how my day will go. I decided to ask Graedon what time he woke up. He replied "14 o'clock." Okay. I also asked him what he wanted to wear that day. He said "pink". I said, "how about jeans and a sweater?". "No," he said. "Pink". He is only 20 mths old so he doesn't even know what pink is. He does however have 4 sisters who dress in ever pink color known to man.
So now everyday I ask Graedon what time he woke up and what he wants to wear. I always get the same answer and I always laugh and kiss him. I love this age!
