new project started

We live in a 1938, 2000 sq foot, 1 bathroom house with 8 people. Yes we do. Since we homeschool, scheduling showers/baths is no big deal. What is a big deal is having 7 of us home all day and one toilet.

There is a fairly small closet upstairs that we have been wanting to convert into a half bath for years now. Well, we hired a plumber to come and set up all the plumbing for a toilet and two sinks while we were on vacation. Worked perfectly!

We are getting it inspected this week (hopefully) and then we can reinstall some drywall, put down our new floor and plunk the toilet down. We'll be finishing the bathroom a little at a time during the evenings. I want to cover the walls in horizontal planks painted a crisp white and the ceiling in beadboard painted turquoise. We'll have a couple of places for built in shelves but since it is a half bath, there isn't a huge need for storage. Brian will also have to custom built a cabinet to hold both sinks due to the plumbing and heating ducts running along the floor.

I have so many ideas to decorate and can't wait to get to that part. Rugs, accessories, paint, faucets, lighting, oh my!
